Prioritise the first useful view
We make the main message, navigation, and primary actions available quickly. We avoid making a visitor wait for decorative motion or optional enhancements before they can read the page or open a link.
Keep movement purposeful
We use restrained reveal effects to help visitors follow a page, not to delay content. We respect reduced-motion preferences and reduce expensive blur or layered effects on touch-led and lower-powered devices. If a browser does not support a visual enhancement, the content remains readable.
Use images responsibly
We choose image sizes appropriate to their displayed dimensions, provide intrinsic dimensions where possible to reduce layout shifts, and defer below-the-fold images where that does not delay the main view.
Reduce unnecessary work
We keep the documentation search local to the guide list, load optional behaviours only where needed, and keep the initial offline cache small. We cache additional pages after a successful visit rather than requiring the full guide library before the website can open again.
Verify the experience on real devices
We test narrow phones, larger screens, keyboard navigation, browser install options, direct page loads, and previously visited pages when offline. We use actual measurements and repeatable checks rather than promising a speed score without testing the deployed version.
